So, late one night after reading too many .357sig debates on calguns.net I decided there must be a mathematical way to show the difference between handgun rounds. So, I started on trying to find ways to take the Sectional Density and Momentum for the round and turn it into a real tangible number that's easy to see. Kinda like how an engine is rated in horsepower.

I understand that there is something similar called the Taylor Knockdown Value, but after seeing this I don't think it's very accurate.

Gonna have to try this just out of cusiosity. The Taylor formula was concieved by John "Pondoro" Taylor nearly a hundred years ago and has little basis in science or fact. Taylor was a great hunter during the golden era of ivory hunting and has more to do with his prowess as a hunter than real formula for judging stopping power. He was quite a character but not much of a scientist.
