Match Description
The match is designed to test the competitor’s ability to effectively engage multiple targets using multiple firearms.

Competitors in the 3-gun match will engage metal reactive and paper targets at distances ranging from 16 Ft. to 200 Yds, using a combination of handguns, rifles and shotguns. There will be barricades, props and other obstacles for the competitors to maneuver or shoot around and through.

The competitors will be required to move short distances during the course of fire, but at no time will they be required to climb, jump, slide or descend down slopes.

The scores will be based on composite times, with time penalties for misses on single shot targets or hostage hits. Comstock scoring may be used depending on the course design and scenario.

Course of Fire Scoring****VIP*****
This match has unique scoring and was primarily designed to promote accurate shooting. As such, there are 3 categories and they are shot as follows:

Unlimited – Shoot til you hit the target. (Engaging a target but not hitting it before continuing adds 5 seconds to your time. Failure to engage adds 10 Seconds to your time)

Tactical & Heavy Metal – Shoot “once” at each target unless otherwise instructed in relay description. (Engaging a target but not hitting it before continuing adds 5 seconds to your time. Failure to engage adds 10 Seconds to your time)

NOTE: if you want to shoot until you hit the target, regardless of equipment division, you will be scored in the unlimited division. Make sure you mark your score sheet as Unlimited if you choose to shoot this way.


Equipment Required:
Eye and Ear Protection - Mandatory for all competitors

Holsters - The match will require the use of a holster and at least 2 magazine or speed loader pouches for the handgun or revolver used during the match. The use of a particular type or brand of holster will not be required. However competitors will not be permitted to commence a course of fire wearing:

· A shoulder holster or “tie-down” rig (visible or otherwise)
· A holster, which does not completely prevent access to, or activation of, the trigger of the handgun while holstered.


Rifle - (80 Rds Minimum) At least 3 magazines
Open
· No limitations on accessories.
· Rifle supporting devices (i.e. bipods, etc.) may be added or removed during the course of the event.
· Rifles shall not be loaded with more than ten (10) rounds at a time.

Tactical
· Firearms must be of a factory configuration
· Internal modifications are allowed providing the modifications do not alter the original factory configuration of the rifle.
· Iron Sights only (No optical sights)
· Rifle supporting devices (i.e. bipods, etc.) are not allowed in this division.
· Compensators are allowed in this division provided the compensator is not larger than 1 inch in diameter and 3 inches long, measured from the barrel muzzle to the end of the compensator.
· Rifles shall not be loaded with more than ten (10) rounds at a time.

Heavy Metal
· Rifles must comply with all Tactical Rifle Rules
· Rifles must be .308 Winchester (7.62x51 NATO) minimum.
· Rifle shall not be loaded with more than eight (8) rounds at a time.


Shotgun - (50 Rds Minimum)
Open
· No limitations on accessories
· Barrel length may not be changed for the duration of the event.
· Magazine tube length shall not be changed for the duration of the event.
· Shotgun speed loaders are allowed in Open
· No shotgun may start a stage with more than 9 rounds total in the shotgun.

Tactical
· Shotguns must be of a factory configuration
· Conventional tubular magazine fed shotguns, only, allowed in this division.
· Barrel length may not be changed for the duration of the event.
· Internal modifications are allowed providing the modifications do not alter the original factory configuration of the shotgun.
· No electronic or optical sights are allowed on shotguns in this division.
· No shotgun supporting devices (i.e. bipods, etc.) are allowed in this division.
· No compensators or porting on barrels allowed in this division.
· No shotgun speed loaders are allowed in this division.
· No shotgun may start a stage with more than 9 rounds total in the shotgun.

Heavy Metal
· Shotguns must comply with Tactical Shotgun Rules
· 12 gauge only.
· No shotgun may start a stage with more than 9 rounds total in the shotgun.


Handguns - (150 Rds Minimum) At least 3 magazines or 3 speed loaders/moonclips
Open
· No limitations on accessories
· Handguns shall not be loaded with more than ten (10) rounds at a time.

Tactical
· Firearms must be of a factory configuration.
· Internal modifications are allowed providing they do not alter the original factory configuration of the handgun.
· Firearms with custom or factory installed electronic sights, optical sights, extended sights, compensators or barrel porting are NOT allowed in this division.
· Handguns shall not be loaded with more than eight (8) rounds at a time.

Heavy Metal
· Firearms must comply with the Tactical handgun rules
· .44 Caliber or larger (non magnum).
· 230 Gr. Round ball ammo only
· Handguns shall not be loaded with more than eight (8) rounds at a time.

Firearms used for competition

There is no restriction on the trigger pull weight of the firearms to be used, however, the trigger mechanism must, at all times, function safely and as originally designed.

All firearms must be serviceable and safe. Range Officers may demand examination of a competitor’s firearm or related equipment, at any time, to check they are functioning safely. If any such item is declared unserviceable or unsafe by a Range Officer, it must be withdrawn from the match until the item is repaired to the satisfaction of the Range Master.
