Default Mike Avooske Memorial High-Power Match

Corona Sportsmen’s Club will be hosting a High-Power Charity Shoot on Saturday June 19, 2021. The proceeds of the shoot will go for the purchase of a M1-Garand and/or Equipment to be donated, In memory of Mike Avooske, to a Disabled Member of the Armed Services at the Western CMP Games in Phoenix, Arizona on March 11-20, 2022

This is a fun, 30 round, 100 Yard reduced course match. (NRA High Power rules loosely apply). To be held on the upper range. The entry fee for this shoot will be only $20, but additional donations are also accepted to help us reach our goal.

Match starts at 9:00AM sharp, so please be there early to get signed in. (sign-in 8:00-8:45AM)

Required Equipment
M1 Garand- any caliber (Iron Sights only)
At Least 30 round of ammunition (+ additional sight in rounds)
Ear and Eye Protection
Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) (some will be available at shoot)

Recommended Equipment (not Mandatory)
Sling
Shooting Glove
Shooting Mat (note: there will be loaner mats available)
Spotting Scope
Shooting Jacket

Target for this event: 100yd reduced High Power Target -SR1

Stages (3) (15 minutes sight-in before shoot starts)
Prone, Slow Fire (10 rounds - 10 minutes), Sling may be used
Prone, Rapid Fire (10 rounds - 70 seconds), Sling may be used
Standing, Slow Fire (10 rounds - 10 minutes), No Sling allowed


There will also be a “Mini-Tactical” shoot on the lower range. It will be a timed event and can be shot either before or after your rifle event. You will need no more than 100 rounds of ammunition for your pistol for this event. The cost for this shoot is $10 if you are shooting High Power also or $20 if you are just shooting this shoot.

There will be 2 handgun classes at this event.
· Heavy Metal Class (1911 pistol chambered in 45 ACP)
· Wimpy Burger Class (everything else)

So come on out and have some fun!
